Frequently Asked Questions
The amount that you need to invest will depend on the visa route that you choose. The Innovator visa requires a minimum investment of £50,000 whereas the investor visa requires either £2m, £5m or £10m depending on the speed at which ILR is required. The Tier 2 work visa does not require investment but you are able to own up to 10% equity in the business you work for which can range anywhere from £25,000 upwards.
All UK innovator visa requires a B2 level of English in ALL disciplines. It is all important to remember that when taking an IELTS or Pearson’s exam that the UKVI specific test is taken. There is no English language requirement for the Tier 1 investor visa. For the Tier 2 skilled Work visa an English language level of at least B1 is required.
Having the correct documents is of fundamental importance when applying for a visa and our team are here to ensure that you have everything in place. Depending on your circumstances there may be some specific documents required but in all cases you will need: a valid passport, proof of maintenance funds, proof of investment , a valid IELTS or Pearson’s English exam certificate, an endorsement letter for Innovator visa or a sponsorship letter for work visa.
It is possible to complete your visa application yourself but we would always recommend using a lawyer to ensure your application is complete and correct. At Geo Solutions we are proud to be working directly with one of the best immigration lawyers in the UK who will follow your case and submit your application with a covering letter. In the unlikely eventuality that there are any issues with your application our lawyer will follow up with the Home Office on your behalf to look for a positive outcome.
This depends very much on your circumstances for example, do you have your English language certificate, have you maintained your funds for 28 days? Generally speaking though the complete process including obtaining endorsement if required, will take about 3 months. Once your application has been submitted to the Home Office the wait time is usually 15 working days but this can vary if the Home Office request additional information.
We are not an endorsing body but we do have a very good working relationship with a number of the endorsing bodies and can help you selecting the appropriate one and negotiating the endorsement for you. An endorsement letter is required for an Innovator visa and the endorsing body must be confident that your business idea is innovative, viable and scalable. Once you have been endorsed it is the job of the endorsing body to support and mentor you, reporting back to the Home Office after 3,6, 12 and 18 months on the progress you are making and finally after 3 years which will help determine your eligibility for indefinite leave to remain in the UK.
All investment and work related UK visas allow you to bring your dependent family with you. There are no English language or investment requirements for them but they will need to demonstrate that they have the required maintenance funds. Family members included are spouse and children under 18 years of age. Dependent children over the age of 18 are no longer permitted as dependents under these visa schemes.
